Today I went to the antique mall here in my home town and investigated the depression glass they have there. I bought a book on the subject and can't get enough of looking it all up on the internet. It's fabulous! Every day, I discover a set of dishes I remember us having when we were kids! This is just so much fun. If I had money and space in my house, I would definitely start collecting depression glass. I'm excited to have the pieces I have, although I don't really think my stuff is from the depression era - I'm inclined to believe most of it is from the 50's and 60's. I do have some cut glass stuff I believe is some pretty nice stuff, but time will tell.
Well that's my blog for now. The more I learn about depression glass, the more fascinated I become. I wish my mother and/or grandmother we still around so I could pick their brains, but, shoot I missed that window of opportunity by a mile or, many years anyway. My mother would be 89 if she were still here and my poor grandmother would be 122. 122? YES 122! So I guess I'm on my own!
More later. In the meantime, here are some pictures of some of my pieces:
